Marketing Timeline



To help your store take full advantage of the sales opportunity provided by the release of these two Rick Warren titles, we've developed a detailed timeline for the implementation of each promotional tool. As you know, it takes repetition of the promotional message over a period of time to generate the best response from your customers. The books and audio are scheduled to release from the Zondervan warehouse on September 1, 2006. So, you should be receiving your copies by mid-September.

Pre-launch (From now to mid-September)
1. Customize the pre-launch postcards with your store logo, name, and hours. Print and mail the pre-launch postcards to all your customers (or select the ones that have purchased The Purpose-Driven Life ™). The postcards are designed to fit on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper so you can print them on your store computer system using card weight paper stock.
2. Customize the pre-launch e-mails with your store logo, name, and hours. E-mail them to your customers. You have the option of either HTML (with images) or text e-mails.
3. Customize the pre-launch bagstuffers with your store logo, name, and hours. They are also designed to fit on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet so they can be printed on your store computer system.
4. Customize the pre-launch posters with your store logo, name, and hours. They are designed to fit on either an 11" x 17" sheet or an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet so they can be printed on your store computer system. Hang the posters on the front windows or by the cash wrap to make sure your customers get the message.
5. Customize the pre-launch church e-mail with your store logo, name, and hours and send it to your church contact list. You may want to include a quantity discount price. These books are perfect for small groups and adult Sunday School classes. Discussion questions are available at www.LivingWithPurposeSeries.com.
6. Place the pre-launch banner ads on your store website and other sites your customers visit. They're available in two sizes. We're also providing layered files that can be customized and re-sized as necessary.
7. You may want to record a message about the coming release of these new books for your on-hold phone message too.

Launch (From mid-September to mid-November)
1. Print out the launch merchandising header and shelftalkers. For best results, take the files to your local instant printer (i.e. Kinkos) and ask them to print the files on card stock. To save time and money, they can also be printed on your store computer system using 11" x 17" card stock. Place the header and shelftalkers on an endcap or other prominent place in the store. Make sure the books and audio packages are displayed face out. You may want to include other Rick Warren products in the display.
